  • David Waddell, M.D., FAAOS, FAOA - Co-Founder & CMO

    Dr. David Waddell is a retired orthopedic surgeon with over 40 years of experience. Throughout his distinguished career, he performed more than 16,000 total knee replacements and administered over 35,000 knee injections, making him a leading expert in the field. As a founding member of Orthopedic Specialists of Louisiana and Specialists Hospital, Dr. Waddell played a pivotal role in advancing orthopedic care in the region. In addition to his clinical work, he has served as an Adjunct Professor at Louisiana State University (Shreveport) and currently leads Musculoskeletal Research LLC, continuing his commitment to improving patient outcomes through innovative research.

  • Reid Grimes, Jr., Ph.D., M.B.A. - President & CEO

    Dr. Reid Grimes, Jr. has served as the CEO of Calosyn since 2021. He holds both a Master's and Doctorate from Louisiana Tech, where he designed innovative nanoparticles. He further expanded his expertise with an MBA from the University of Oklahoma, specializing in entrepreneurship particularly with pharmaceutical companies, and pursued advanced studies in marketing and investing at both NYU and Columbia. Additionally, he currently serves as the board treasurer for the Advanced Air Mobility Institute, a non-profit organization that educates and promotes acceptance of the emerging field.

  • Rick Babb - CFO

    Rick Babb - CFO

    Mr. Babb is a Managing Director and CFO of Louisiana Funds, two Early Stage Venture Capital Funds since 2005 serving as a Board Member and Interim CFO for 10 portfolio companies. He served as CFO for Medical Science Partners three venture capital funds. He was the CFO and Chief Compliance Officer for Apeiron Partners, a boutique investment bank in the Life Sciences sector. Mr. Babb has a diverse business and accounting background, having been a Manager with Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneurial Services Group, and a strong general business acumen having owned and operated his own business for 9 years. Mr. Babb earned a BS in Business Administration from American International College and is an inactive Certified Public Accountant.

  • Paul Goldenheim, M.D. - Director of Clinical Development

    Paul serves as the Director of Clinical Operations, assisting Reid with strategic planning, employee vetting, CRO selection, and overseeing the clinical design and execution of the Phase 2 trials. With 30+ years in drug development and management, extensive experience in guiding small biotech companies through clinical trials, and a background in executive leadership in the pharmaceutical industry, Paul brings invaluable expertise to the team. Paul has important biotech business development experience as President, TransForm (sold to J&J), Vice-Chair, Hypnion (sold to Eli Lilly), and Director, Promedior (sold to Roche). He has an MD from Harvard.
